VARIANTS OF COINCIDENCES
INVISIBLE NATURE
Júlia Végh’s latest series focuses on coincidence as its main theme and central motif. Through the medium of oil and collage she plays with the clichés of the fashion industry and the beauty standards represented by fashion magazines – where Végh uncovers and obscures, but simultaneously reveals and exposes. The visual experience of the coincidental abstract layers that come to life through her paintings allows for the viewer to gain insight into the inner world of the artist. Unlike in the past – where Végh worked with the metaphor of the construction and deconstruction of public spaces in a realistic style – she now interprets her subject through lyrical abstraction. What was formerly an outward contemplation has now suddenly been replaced by a focus on an inner world built on a world of dreams. Végh’s latest work presents variables, coincidences, combinations of the human body, her subjective relationship with nature, and the conceptual pairing of space and nonspace.
