WHITECONCEPTS Gallery focuses on conceptual art and an interdisciplinary-based exploration of various media that include visual and sculptural works, installations, performances and other creative interventions. Our represented artists and their works are promoted through gallery and museum exhibitions as well as art fairs, non-traditional arts venues, and through placement in both public and private collections.

The mission of WHITECONCEPTS is to create an agile place that fosters creation and cultivates an exchange among artists and patrons about ideas concerning international contemporary art. A central interest lies in featuring socially reflective and environmentally focused projects that introduce diverse and forward-thinking perspectives. Understanding exhibitions to be opportunities for inspiring discourse, WHITECONCEPTS presents artwork in conjunction with lectures, workshops, readings, discussions and publications as a means of engaging the community and fostering learning. The gallery gives priority to issues concerning perceptions of space and regards this notion as a unifying principle. In close collaboration with artists WHITECONCEPTS is developing and organizing art projects for collectors, enterprises, institutions, local and global authorities.

In 2009 Nicole F. Loeser founded WHITECONCEPTS, and serves as its gallery director. She is an independent curator and art manager with over fifteen years of experience in collaborating with institutions and corporations across Europe. She has curated more than 300 exhibitions and projects. Her work with people is global in reach, and is grounded in her interests for creative and scientific research, as well as exhibition theory and practice. As an art critic, Nicole publishes monographs and catalogs and is a regular author in catalogs, journals and publications. Since 2013 she has been a Board Member of the Art Market Budapest art fair. Furthermore, she is Artistic Director at the Institute for Art and Innovation, a multidisciplinary think tank, based in Berlin. For the recent project “The Universal Sea“, co-funded by the EU, and with more than 70 institutions involved, she served as Project Lead.

Art Market Budapest, Central and Eastern Europe’s leading international art fair, and one of the largest in Europe, brings a special experience to art lovers and professionals for the tenth occasion now. Hungary’s largest annual exhibition of contemporary fine arts and photography usually features over 500 artists and thousands of artworks, presented by around a hundred exhibitors from nearly thirty countries around the world in the impressive exhibition halls and park of the Millenáris in Budapest. The popular art event now turns the spotlight on the political transition that took place in Eastern Europe 30 years ago, along with its artistic dimensions.
